How does AI meal recognition work?

When you upload a food photo, Vegacy uses an advanced AI-based visual analysis system to identify ingredients and estimate portion sizes. The process generally includes:

• Secure image upload
• AI-based food recognition and portion estimation
• Conversion into structured nutrition data, including calories, protein, and key micronutrients

The goal is to make meal logging fast while keeping results editable and transparent.

Why did I receive a “Non-food” warning?

If the system determines that an image does not clearly contain food, or that the detected items do not match your dietary preference (for example, animal-based foods for vegan users), a warning may appear. For best results, ensure the meal is clearly visible and centered in the photo.

Can I edit the AI results?

Yes. Before saving a meal, you can manually adjust:

• Ingredient names and quantities
• Calories and protein
• Micronutrients such as Iron, Calcium, and Vitamin B12

Vegacy is designed to support correction and personal judgment rather than enforcing AI results blindly.
